Day 6 is here already! And it’s Friday!!! WOOHOO!!!
Sexy, no? 🙂
Today’s look incorporates a nice peachy/ coral eye shadow all over using a dark brown in the outer crease and eye liner. And let’s not forget our Physician’s Formula Va Va Voom Mascara! #lashout
Nice. Simple. Fun with color but something that can be worn every day yet still have people respect you. It’s all about experimenting but still remaining classy.
Stay tuned!!! One more day of my 7 day challenge!
So, my lunch Pinterest party was a success yesterday as I knew exactly what look I wanted to do today. A soft rosy smoky eye.
I love smoky eyes. They look good on me and they are easy for me to do. I think smoky eyes have the reputation of being something only for nighttime events, however, I dare you to play with softer, more sheer colors and rock a gorgeous daytime smoky eye.
For this look I once again started with my trusted matte taupe shadow all over. Then smoked out my eyes with an absolutely gorgeous shimmery rose. A white highlighter under the brows and a soft brown in the outer crease. Brown eye liner and my uber-fabulous Physician’s Formula Va Va Voom mascara and I was pretty happy with this look! #lashout
I got compliments on this look all day!!! Even after I thought I had sweated it all off at my kids’ school jog-a-thon today! (I was suckered into being the school mascot for 3 hours-he’s a lion!)
I’m definitely going to put this one in the regular repetoire.
I have to be honest. I really struggled today with what to do! Goodness! Have I been in a make-up slump for so long that I misplaced some of my mojo??? Heaven forbid!!!
I ended up coming up with an idea after I got dressed. I had on a dark smoky blue/grey sweater and denim. So I thought, why not dark blue skies as an inspiration. Not the bright blue of summer’s sunshine, but that dark blue of the sky when you realize that it’s late and the sun is just now setting because of spring waning it’s way towards summer and the days gradually getting longer.
So I did my usual matte taupe eye shadow as a base. Then a light blue/grey on the inner corners and a deeper blue for the outer corners and the crease. A little bit of white under the brows to highlight and it was time for eyeliner.
I didn’t want a harsh black, but I needed something of substance. That’s when I remembered my monochromatic palette! Black eye liner then quickly rimmed my eyes and the blue mono was brushed on top to make a gorgeous metallic/almost peacock blue. And then of course topped the whole look with two coats of Physician’s Formula Va Va Voom Mascara. #lashout
I’ll do better tomorrow. I promise! (Because I spent my lunch creating a spring eye make-up Pinterest board.) 🙂
Ok, so I’m a slacker!!!! This was supposed to be sent yesterday (did the make-up and took the photo yesterday) but voted on a much needed nap instead of computer work. Sorry! 😦
But here it is.
I used a sheer lavender in the crease and throughout the mobile eyelid with a darker plum lining my eyes and a smidgen in the outer corners. And of course, two coats of my Physician’s Formula Va Va Voom mascara! (#lashout)
Today is day 4. Brain is turning to come up with an idea. I’ve got a couple hours though. Gotta take the kids to school and then workout. Time shall tell! And I promise I’ll get it posted on time! 😉
When I was hunting through Google for an iconic image to use for today’s Throwback Thursday feature, I didn’t really know what I wanted to focus on. But when I saw this photo, I immediately knew what to do!
So in honor of the first day of spring, I bring you the stunning Sophia Loren.
With that colorful scarf and sexy make-up, how could I NOT have chosen her!
I loved the bronzed skin, sultry cat eye and pastel pink glossy lip.
To recreate this look at home, use MK Bronzing Powder to contour your cheekbones and add a light dusting all over to look like you just got back from your winter holiday in Antigua.
Use MK Gel Eyeliner in Jet Black to create that gorgeous cat eye and then smudge a bit on your lid with your finger to get the sultry with the sexy.
Top the look off with a healthy dose of MK Nourishine Plus Lip Gloss in Pink Parfait to get that voluptuous shine and pastel pink goodiness.

For my age, I should be a lip gloss girl. My hay – day was the late 90s when lip gloss ruled and only your grandmothers wore real lipstick.
However, I love lipstick! I love the texture, the consistency, and of course…nothing beats the smell of lipstick!
So why then don’t I wear it more often??? I must say it has to be the maintenance. I haven’t been willing to take the time for touch ups throughout the day. Also, I kinda feel awkward wearing lipstick with yoga pants and a messy bun.
But this weekend I was invited to hang out with some super cool people at a hotel pool down in Shelter Island in San Diego and one of the gals there was rocking the most amazing red lip with her super cute retro polka dot swimsuit and fabulous wayfarer shades. And she rocked those lips all afternoon poolside. Through eating snacks to drinking cocktails and you know what.. she looks absolutely amazing!!!
So, with her ruby lips as inspiration, I’m doing another 7 Days/7 Ways only this time with lipstick. Follow me on Instagram if you want to see each day’s looks or you can wait until next week when I recap all 7.
I also challenge you to lipstick for 7 days in a row. See how your perspective on life changes. And post them so we can all see the fabulous array of colors and textures out there.
And so without further ado, here is Day One!
Lipstick: 7 Days/7 Ways
Day One: Yoga Flush
Sporting yoga pants and a messy bun after yoga, I decided to go with a nice sheer flush. No lip liner and the lipstick has a sheen to it so no gloss.
What I’m wearing: Chanel Rouge Coco Shine in Bel – Ami
I hope you aren’t too hung over from your green beer drinking festivities this past weekend! I know I spent my weekend with some MUCH needed R&R.

HAPPY ST PATRICK’S DAY!!!
I know, I know. It’s not Monday but I’m claiming the warm, sunny San Diego weather as my excuse! I was soaking up the warmth while working in my garden yesterday and completely forgot that it was Monday. So here’s our New Look “Tuesday”.
I did an ombre hair style (actually kinda cool). I also did a neutral eye shadow but popped it up with a jade colored eyeliner. Paired with a cinnamon bronze cheek color and soft coral lips, this look is just screaming to be worn with a summer dress and a pair of amazing espadrilles!
Here’s my look:
Limited Edition MK at Play Just for Lips in Shade 3
MK Lash Love Lengthening Mascara in Black
MK Eyeliner in Rich Jade
MK at Play Eye Crayon in Over the Taupe
MK Mineral Cheek Color in Cinnamon Stick

I have to start this post off with a huge WOW!!! Yesterday I showed a photo of a shoot/project that I helped with and it has gotten a FABULOUS response across my various social media platforms. So, THANK YOU!!!
Today, for Throwback Thursday I am going to show you photo number two from the shoot.
For those who don’t know, the shoot was a play on famous portraits and since I am indeed a make-up artist, they all have a little make-up inspired twist to them.
Audrey Hepburn from yesterday had a make-up brush in her hand instead of the cigarette.
And so, without further ado, here is today’s!
Not too shabby! I still like yesterday’s photo of myself better, but still…it is kinda cool looking!
Here’s what the original portrait looked like:
The focus on it all is of course the absolutely beautiful and flawless skin. That perfect porcelain complexion that looks like she has nothing on.
Here’s a list of what I used:
Boots No7 True Identity Foundation
Boots No7 Beautifully Matte Foundation
Boots No7 Radiant Glow Concealer
MK Mineral Pressed Powder
You can purchase all of the Boots products at your local Target or on target.com.
You can purchase the MK powder HERE.
Stay tuned tomorrow for the last photo in the series. It’s perfect for “Fun Friday”!
