I have to start this post off with a huge WOW!!! Yesterday I showed a photo of a shoot/project that I helped with and it has gotten a FABULOUS response across my various social media platforms. So, THANK YOU!!!
Today, for Throwback Thursday I am going to show you photo number two from the shoot.
For those who don’t know, the shoot was a play on famous portraits and since I am indeed a make-up artist, they all have a little make-up inspired twist to them.
Audrey Hepburn from yesterday had a make-up brush in her hand instead of the cigarette.
And so, without further ado, here is today’s!
Not too shabby! I still like yesterday’s photo of myself better, but still…it is kinda cool looking!
Here’s what the original portrait looked like:
The focus on it all is of course the absolutely beautiful and flawless skin. That perfect porcelain complexion that looks like she has nothing on.
Here’s a list of what I used:
Boots No7 True Identity Foundation
Boots No7 Beautifully Matte Foundation
Boots No7 Radiant Glow Concealer
MK Mineral Pressed Powder
You can purchase all of the Boots products at your local Target or on target.com.
You can purchase the MK powder HERE.
Stay tuned tomorrow for the last photo in the series. It’s perfect for “Fun Friday”!
Soooooo…I know that this post is a day late, but I have a REALLY good reason!!! I promise!!!
Yesterday, instead of doing my normal job (being a make-up artist), I had to be a model as well! YIKES!
My neighbor and good friend had a project due for her photography class and wanted to know if I would help her out. And since my last portrait for work was taken almost 6 years ago, I figured it was time for an update. But I didn’t want just any ole portrait. No boring bank investor photo for me. I decided to make a play on famous portraits. We did three different looks-all of which will have their day on the blog, but for today I’m sharing the one that I have COMPLETELY fallen in love with and have made my profile picture on ALL of my work social media. And as soon as I order new business cards, it will be on those as well. I HATE photos of myself, but I LOVE this one!
So, what do you think??? We channeled an iconic portrait of Audrey Hepburn in Breakfast at Tiffany’s. It goes along with Classy on a Budget. And if you look real close, you’ll see that I am most definitely NOT promoting smoking as I’m holding a make-up brush. 🙂
So, My Favorite Thing right now? Very talented friends. Thanks SO much to the uber-fabulous Natalie A. Stevens for her phenomenal job on my portrait! I hope you get an A! You can see more of Natalie’s work HERE
In honor of all the beauty and fashions of the Oscars last night, today’s New Look Monday is a mash – up of some of the trends from that illustrious red carpet.
The hair I channeled Kate Hudson and Sandra Bullock. The gorgeous curls swept off to one side was so chic yet effortless. I even combined their hair color but not sure I’m meant to be that shade. Lol.
The eyes were inspired by the one and only Angelina Jolie. Smoky, sultry, mesmerizing. I always love a dramatic eye.
And the lips and cheeks were modeled after fashion’s newest Hollywood darling-Lupita Nyong’o with the peachy cheeks and lip. I’m actually digging the peach lips and might try it out in real life!
Once again I used my handy dandy MK Makeover App to create this look and here’s what my virtual self has on:
MK Mineral Eye Color in Coal
MK Eyeliner in Black
MK Lash Love Lengthening Mascara in Black
MK Mineral Cheek Color in Golden Copper
MK At Play Jelly Lip Gloss in Hot Tamale

Ooooooh! My Birchbox for this month just got delivered! (www.birchbox.com for more info on what Birchbox is). I always love seeing what goodies they send me and this month was no exception.
This edition was sponsored by Glamour magazine and focused on stimulating the five senses.
All of the items definitely stimulate the sense of sight. The sheer golden glow of Manna’s Shimmer Lotion will make even my worst of mornings look like I had a good night’s sleep.
Sense of smell is taken care of with a sample of one of Oscar de la Renta’s newest fragrances, Live in Love. (Smells absolutely AMAZING, by the way!).
Nothing invigorates the sense of touch then the creaminess of a fabulous mud mask and the Ahava one with active dead sea minerals is definitely going to wash away my worries during my next DIY facial night.
The most unexpected item in my Birchbox covered the sense of hearing: the most adorable ear buds, right on trend with super cute neon colors.
Now, that leaves me with one sense left, taste, and one product left, the Laura Geller double dipped lipstick. I’m taking it that the folks at Birchbox have quite a sense of humor considering studies have estimated that women consume 6 pounds of lipstick throughout their life.
Either way, this edition of Birchbox looks like a lot of fun to play with (and I really am digging the floral notes of Oscar’s new perfume!)
